Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ was released in theatres on July 21 along with Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’. The Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling starrer has outperformed ‘Oppenheimer’ at the global level and it is set to hit the $1 billion mark in its third weekend. But, at the Indian box office, the fantasy comedy is still struggling to reach the Rs 40 crore mark.

The Indian audience has shown strong support for the Cillian Murphy starrer and the movie has now joined the Rs 100 crore club on its 13th day of release.

‘Oppenheimer’ earned over Rs 2 crore on day 13 in theatres, while ‘Barbie’ earned Rs 70 lakh, bringing the film’s total collection to Rs 37.55 crores.

‘Oppenheimer’ is based on the life of nuclear physicist J Robert Oppenheimer, who is known as the father of the atomic bomb. The movie also stars Robert Downey Jr, Matt Damon, Kenneth Branagh, and Florence Pugh in significant roles.

‘Oppenheimer’ is now facing strong competition from Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, which was released on July 28. Starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, the romantic drama opened with Rs 11.5 crore.

This year, three Hollywood films, ‘Fast X’, ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’, and ‘Oppenheimer’, have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in India.
