Disney has reportedly offered $301 million to Johnny Depp to return as Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise along with an apology letter. A source told Australian pop culture gossip site Poptopic.com, that the company sent a gift basket to the actor along with a heartfelt letter. The studio has reportedly also penned a draft for a film based on Jack Sparrow and is hopeful that Depp will forgive them and return to play his iconic character.

However, there is no official confirmation from the actor or his team so far.

For the unversed, during the six-week-long defamation trial, Johnny Depp mentioned that he would not return as Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise even if he was offered a huge amount of money.

Earlier this month, Johnny Depp won the $50 million defamation case against his former wife Amber Heard. In a Washington Post op-ed, published in 2018, Heard had called herself a 'domestic abuse suvivor' which massively impacted Depp's career. Films such as 'Fantastic Beast 3' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean' refused to sign him.
