Blake Lively, who has been in the spotlight for her rumoured feud with ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star Justin Baldoni, is facing fresh backlash.
The actor is under fire for a resurfaced 2014 interview in which she claimed that pregnancy symptoms are a ‘lie.’
The video has ignited frustration among viewers, especially women, who accuse Lively of minimising the challenges of pregnancy.
At the time of the interview with Extra’s AJ Calloway, Lively was pregnant with her first child, James, now nine, while attending the Angel Ball.
‘How’s it going? My wife is seven months along right now, so I know all about the foot rubs,’ Calloway asked.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ alum laughed at the question, joking that it sounded like his wife was ‘taking advantage’ of him.
In a playful exchange, Blake Lively responded, ‘Totally,’ jokingly adding, ‘That’s not necessary… you can exploit it [pregnancy] if you want.’
When the interviewer mentioned that he rubs his pregnant wife’s feet ‘every night’ to help her feel better, the ‘Green Lantern’ actor playfully slapped his arm and called him a ‘sucker.’

‘You can’t fall for that stuff!’ she told him, before claiming that pregnancy cravings are a ‘lie.’
Lively went on to say, ‘It’s the perfect way to get what you want. You want chocolate ice cream at midnight? You have a craving!’
Before wrapping up, Lively clarified that she was just ‘teasing.’
Despite her clarification, the comments didn’t sit well with social media users when the interview resurfaced on TikTok. The clip, which has garnered over 8.6 million views and more than 630,000 likes, drew criticism from commentators.
One user remarked, ‘I’m guessing she lives a pampered life whether pregnant or not, so her feet probably aren’t sore.’
Several people shared their own painful pregnancy experiences, highlighting symptoms like swollen feet and severe back pain, as a reminder that ‘pregnancy is rough.’ Concerns were also raised about how Lively’s comments might influence how some partners treat their spouses during pregnancy, regardless of whether she was joking.
However, some defended Lively, noting that she ended the interview by clearly saying she was ‘teasing.’
