Veteran actor Krishna dies: Mahesh Babu, Namrata Shirodkar share statement on Twitter

Veteran Telugu actor Krishna died on Tuesday morning and his family, friends, stars from the Telugu industry, and fans are paying their last respects on social media. His son, actor Mahesh Babu, his wife Namrata Shirodkar, and the rest of the Ghattamaneni family members issued the first statement after Krishna’s death on Twitter.

The statement posted on the official handle of G Mahesh Babu Entertainment read, ‘It is with the deepest grief that we inform you of the passing of our dearest Krishna garu. He was a superstar in so many ways beyond the movie screen... guided by love, humility and compassion. He will live on through his work, through us, and the many lives he influenced. He loved us more than anything and we will miss him more with each passing day... but as they say, goodbyes aren't forever. Until we meet again... - THE GHATTAMANENI FAMILY.’

The mortal remains of the legendary actor were taken to his residence in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad. A video has surfaced online in which an emotional Mahesh Babu is seen meeting several people, including actor Pawan Kalyan, who have come to offer their last respects.
Ghattamaneni Sivarama Krishna was popularly known as Krishna. He began his career in 1960s and has acted in about 350 films. In 2009, Krishna was honored with Padma Bhushan.

Krishna’s first wife and Mahesh Babu’s mother Indira Devi died in October after suffering from a prolonged illness. His elder son Ramesh Babu died in January this year. His second wife, actor Vijaya Nirmala had died in 2019.
