Salman Khan has started filming for 'Sikandar,' his upcoming movie with director AR Murugadoss. A picture of Salman from the set has surfaced online, generating significant excitement. Expected to be an action-packed film, 'Sikandar' is set to be released on Eid 2025.
Salman Khan revealed the film's title on Instagram on April 11, sharing the poster and captioning it, ‘This Eid, watch 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' and 'Maidaan,' and next Eid, meet 'Sikandar.' Wishing you all Eid Mubarak!’
'Sikandar' reunites Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala after their blockbusters 'Kick', 'Judwaa', and 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi'.
The film is being directed by AR Murugadoss, known for 'Ghajini', which grossed over Rs 100 crore. He also directed Akshay Kumar's 'Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty'.
'Sikandar' is slated to be filmed in India and Europe to achieve a grand scale. While an earlier report suggested a budget of Rs 400 crore, there's no official confirmation.
Salman Khan made headlines in April when two individuals on a motorcycle fired outside his residence in Mumbai's Bandra area. Five individuals, including the shooters, have been arrested. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi are also wanted in connection with the case.
Anuj Thapan, one of the arrested individuals in the Salman Khan housing firing case, passed away in Mumbai Police custody. Following Thapan's death, his family petitioned the Bombay High Court for a CBI investigation, disputing the police's assertion that Thapan had committed suicide in the lock-up. His mother, Rita Devi, alleged foul play and claimed he was murdered.
Salman Khan's last appearance was in the successful thriller ‘Tiger 3,’ directed by Maneesh Sharma. The film, which also starred Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in pivotal roles, performed impressively at the box office.
