Satish Kaushik’s last rites performed in Mumbai

The last rites of veteran actor and director Satish Kaushik were held in Mumbai on Thursday. He died in Delhi after suffering a heart attack while travelling in a car. His body was brought to Mumbai after the postmortem.

Ahead of the cremation, several Bollywood stars arrived at Satish Kaushik's residence in Mumbai to pay their last respect.  

Besides being an actor and director, Satish Kaushik was also a producer, comedian, and screenwriter. He is best known for his roles as Calendar in ‘Mr. India’, Pappu Pager in ‘Deewana Mastana’, and Chanu Ahmed in Sarah Gavron's British film ‘Brick Lane’. He has won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award twice – for ‘Ram Lakhan’ in 1990 and for ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’ in 1997.
