Actor-director Satish Kaushik has died following a heart attack. The news of his death was shared by veteran actor Anupam Kher on Twitter.

The film fraternity is in shock after learning about Satish Kaushik's demise and many celebrities have taken to social media to pay their tribute.

Actor Kangana Ranaut tweeted, 'woke up to this horrible news, he was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director #SatishKaushikji personally was also very kind and genuine man. I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed. Om Shanti.'

Farah Khan mourned the demise of the actor and sharing the picture of him, she wrote, ' Too sudden and to sad, the kindest and happiest man'

Manoj Bajpayee is 'shocked' as Satish Kaushik passes away. He tweeted, 'Completely shocked to read this! What a great loss for all of us and his family! Condolences to his family & friends! May you rest in peace Satish Bhai!'

Madhur Bhandarkar has also paid his tribute to Satish Kaushik. He wrote, 'I am so shocked to hear the demise of actor-director Satish Kaushik ji, who was always vibrant, energetic and full of life, he will be missed immensely by the film fraternity & millions of admires, My deepest condolences to his family members. #OmShanti.
@satishkaushik2," wrote filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar.'
