R Madhavan reacts to 'Naatu Naatu's win at the Golden Globes; ‘We have beaten the best in the world’

'RRR's song 'Naatu Naatu' made history by winning a Golden Globe award in the Best Original Music category. Composer MM Keeravaani, received the award for his extraordinary music. ‘Naatu Naatu’ is the first Indian song to win the grand award. Many celebrities congratulated the team of 'RRR' for this auspicious award. One name recently added to the list is actor R. Madhavan. 

Speaking with Zoom TV, Madhavan said that when he said, 'For it to be validated by the Golden Globe is an extraordinary achievement. It’s a moment of pride for the entire country. It’s wonderful that Indian cinema songs, which sometimes people in the West used to smirk and joke about, have to eat a humble pie because we have beaten the best in the world to win this as an original score.'

He later recalled the instance when he first heard the song. He said that when he heard and watched 'Naatu Naatu', he felt there was something special about the song. 'I was so blown by Naatu Naatu that I called Ram Charan and told him that this song will actually get me to dance', he said.

On the work front, Madhavan will next feature in 'Amriki Pandit'.
