A massive fire broke out on the set of Luv Ranjan's new romantic comedy, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, at the Chitrakoot film set in Mumbai on Friday. According to BMC Disaster Control, one person died in the incident.
Videos and photos have widely been shared from the set showing plumes of black smoke.
Mumbai fire brigade informed that the fire was reported around 4.30 pm at a shop.
Civics said that the fire started in a shop in the area, but later confirmed it to be a film set. Without any delay, three engines rushed to the spot to douse the fire. The crew and the cast were evacuated immediately.
Boney Kapoor, who is making his acting debut with the film, confirmed the news to Bombay Times saying that he's unaware of the cause of the fire but they were due to film on the sets on Saturday.
A report in ETimes also said that Sunny Deol’s younger son Rajveer, was busy with the shoot of his debut film, and the cast and crew were evacuated after the fire broke out.
