Jiah Khan suicide case: Sooraj Pancholi distributes sweets after acquittal: ‘Won my confidence back’

Sooraj Pancholi has been acquitted in the suicide case of actor Jiah Khan by the special CBI court due to lack of evidence. The actor released a statement after being given a clean chit by the court and mentioned the last 10 years have been ‘painful’ for him and his family.

The statement issued by Sooraj read, ‘The verdict has taken 10 long painful years and sleepless nights, But today I have not only won this case against me but I have also won my dignity and confidence back, it took a lot of courage to face the world with such heinous allegations.’

He further said, ‘I hope and pray to God that nobody goes through what I have gone through at such a young age, I don’t know who will give me these 10 years of my life back to me, but I am glad that this has finally come to an end not only for me but especially for my family. There is nothing bigger than peace in this world.’

After the verdict was announced, Sooraj reached home and distributed sweets to the media present there. 

Earlier, Sooraj had shared a note on Instagram which read, ‘The Truth always wins! #GodIsGreat.’

Jiah Khan, who died by suicide in June 2013, had allegedly left a six-page suicide note where she mentioned that Sooraj cheated on and even raped her following which she had to undergo an abortion.
