Janhvi Kapoor is currently busy promoting her upcoming film 'Mr and Mrs Mahi' along with co-star Rajkummar Rao. Despite juggling a busy schedule, the actor always manages to find time to reconnect with her roots. Recently, Janhvi visited a temple in Chennai and it was more so special because it was her mother Sridevi's 'most favourite place'.

Janvhi Kapoor visits mumma Sridevi's 'most favourite place'

On Monday morning, Janhvi Kapoor took to her Instagram account to share a bunch of pictures from her visit to the Muppathanam temple in Chennai. Captioning the photo, she wrote, “Visited Muppathanam temple for the first time ❤️ mumma's most favourite place to visit in Chennai.” The actor was accompanied by one of her friends. For the temple visit, Janhvi was decked up in an ethereal floral half-saree that she paired with a strappy blouse.  She left her hair half open and complimented the look with subtle makeup.

Janhvi's recent confession about being religious

In a conversation with The Lallantop, Janhvi opened up about how the sudden loss of her mother, actor Sridevi, changed her outlook towards life and made her more religious. She said, “She believed in things like, ‘certain activities should be done on specific dates,’ ‘don’t cut hair on Fridays as it will prevent Goddess Lakshmi from entering the house,’ and ‘avoid wearing black on Fridays.’ I never believed in such superstitions. However, after she passed away, I started believing in them, maybe even too much. I don’t know if I was this religious and spiritually inclined when she was around. [When she was alive] we all followed these practices because Mamma did. But following her demise, the relationship our culture and history have with Hinduism… I think I started taking refuge in our religion a lot more.”

Janhvi's upcoming films

'Mr and Mrs Mahi' sees Janhvi reunite with her 'Roohi' co-star Rajkummar Rao. The romantic comedy has been directed by Sharan Sharma and backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The film will release on May 31, 2024.

Janhvi will also be seen in Sudhansh Saria's espionage thriller, 'Ulajh', co-starring Gulshan Deviah, Roshan Mathew and Adil Hussain. She is also awaiting her South debut with 'Devara' led by Jr NTR. She will reunite with her 'Bawaal' co-star Varun Dhawan for the upcoming film 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari'.
