SALAAM BOMBAY (1988)
Irrfan Khan made his debut on the silver screen in 1988 with 'Salaam Bombay'. The film was directed by Mira Nair and followed the lives of homeless children living in the slums of Bombay. The film even went on to bag awards at the prestigious ‘Cannes Film Festival’. It was also nominated for an Oscar for the ‘Best International Feature Film’ at the 61st Academy Awards. A young Irrfan Khan essayed the role of a letter writer. Even though his role was a mere few seconds on the screen, it left an everlasting impact in the mind of the audiences all over.
ANGREZI MEDIUM (2020)
This film marks another stellar performance by the late Irrfan Khan. Not many must be aware that the actor shot for this film while undergoing treatment for cancer. The Homi Adajania directorial also starred Radhika Madan in the lead role. Irrfan essayed the role of Champak Bansal, a doting father who doesn’t mind going to any extent to help his daughter realise her dreams.
