Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's 'Fighter' has finally been released in theatres. Touted as India's first aerial action, the Siddharth Anand directorial has opened to glowing reviews from critics and fans alike. Now, the opening day box office collection of the film is finally here, and it seems like the dynamic duo of HR and DP just added another hit to their name.
'Fighter' had a promising start at the box office on Day 1, raking in Rs 21 crore, as per the industry tracker Sacnilk.com. As per trade experts, the film will benefit from the Republic Day holiday and is expected to grow business further. Trade expert Taran Adarsh has predicted that the film's patriotic theme will also help in drawing a significant audience. “In my opinion, it should do Rs 35+ crore on day one of its release considering it is pre-Republic Day. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. And on January 26, the numbers are going to be huge. It all depends on the word of mouth. If it’s positive, it can earn Rs 45 crore on day two,” he told News18.
'Fighter' centres on an Indian Air Force squad on a mission, concerning Pakistan, POK, the Pulwama terror attack, and India's response to it with the Balakot strikes. Aside from Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, the film also features Anil Kapoor and Karan Singh Grover in pivotal roles.
