Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is returning to Bollywood, eight after the release of his last project, 'Ae Dil Hai Mushqil', co-starring Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor. According to a recent report, the Pakistani heartthrob is all set to make his much-anticipated comeback with a romantic film opposite Vaani Kapoor. The film will go into production soon, the report added.
Fawad Khan made his Bollywood debut with 'Khoobsurat' in 2014 opposite Sonam Kapoor. He then went on to appear in films like 'Kapoor & Sons' and 'Ae Dil Hai Mushqil'. However, following the Uri Attack in 2016, a ban was imposed on Pakistani artists by the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association. But back in 2023, the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition that had called for a complete ban on Indian citizens, companies, and associations from collaborating with Pakistani artists, such as actors, singers, musicians, lyricists, and technicians. Now, rumours of Fawad Khan's returning to Bollywood have ignited a wave of excitement among Pakistani actor's Indian fans.
According to a Filmfare report, Fawad has been paired with Vaani Kapoor for an upcoming romantic comedy. Citing sources, the report added that the film will go on the floors in London soon. Other details related to the project have been kept under wraps. The actors have also maintained a silence on the forthcoming film.
Fawad Khan is reuniting with his 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' co-star Sanam Saeed for the upcoming drama, 'Barzakh. According to the makers, 'Barzakh' blends magical realism with supernatural fantasy in a family reunion setting, promising an unforgettable narrative. The drama is directed by Asim Abbasi, known for helming Zindagi's debut Pakistani original Churails and the feature film 'Cake', Pakistan's 2019 Oscars submission.
