'Emergency': Mahima Chaudhry to play Indira Gandhi's confidante, Pupul Jayakar, first look out

Mahima Chaudhry is all set to make her comeback to the big screen with Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency'. The 'Queen' actor took to Instagram on Saturday and shared the first look of Mahima as Pupul Jayakar, Indira Gandhi's confidante. 'Presenting @mahimachaudry1 as the one who witnessed it all,  and wrote for the world to see the Iron Lady up, close and personal.  #PupulJayakar Friend, author and confidante,' she wrote. 

Mahima too shared her first look from the upcoming film and thanked Kangana for casting her as Pupul. In her post, the 'Pardes' actor wrote that Kangana is truly gifted,  fierce, brave and extremely talented. She further mentioned that the 'Thalaivi' actor wore ‘so many hats with such great ease- of an actor, director , producer’ and working with her was ‘such an experience.’

Emergency’ is Kangana’s second directorial after 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'. It is expected to release in theatres in 2023.
