The first teaser of Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film 'Dunki' has been released on his 58th birthday.

The film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is a story of group of friends trying to fulfill their dreams and desires by embarking on an arduous yet life changing journey.

Besides SRK, Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal are also part of this unique tale.

Shah Rukh took to his social media handles to share the teaser of ‘Dunki’, which marks his first collaboration with ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani.

He wrote, ‘A story of simple and real people trying to fulfill their dreams and desires. Of friendship, love, and being together… Of being in a relationship called Home!’

‘A heartwarming story by a heartwarming storyteller. It's an honour to be a part of this journey and I hope you all come along with us. The #DunkiDrop1 is here,’ he added.

The teaser, which the makers mentioned as 'Dunki Drop 1', introduced the audience to SRK's character Hardy, and his quirky 'family' in the film.

‘Dunki’ will be Shah Rukh Khan’s third film of the year after the blockbusters ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’. The movie also features Taapsee Pannu in the lead role alongside Shah Rukh. Vicky Kaushal also features in the film.

The teaser begins with a group of men and women dressed in black, crossing a desert while a sharpshooter aims at their backs. As he fires a shot, we are taken back in time to where it all began.  A bunch of friends from Punjab who hope to work and live in London someday.

SRK’s character Hardy vows to help his friends get to London by any means necessary.

'Dunki' is scheduled to be released in theatres on December 22.

The film is backed by Red Chillies Entertainment, Rajkumar Hirani Films and Jio Studios.

‘Dunki’ will clash with Prashant Neel's ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ at the box office.
