Director Raj Kumar Kohli, who was best known for directing fantasy fiction hits like ‘Nagin’ and ‘Jaani Dushman’, passed away in Mumbai due to a heart attack on Friday. He was 93.
Reports suggest the director went to shower but didn't come out for a while. His son, actor Armaan Kohli found him collapsed and rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Publicist and close friend of Arman, Vijay Grover revealed that Raj Kumar’s last rites will be held this evening.
Raj Kumar Kohli’s Popular Works
The director was known for several Bollywood movies including ‘Dulla Bhatti’ (1966) and ‘Lootera’ (1970) which starred Dara Singh and Nishi in the lead role. Some of his other popular movies were ‘Nagin’, ‘Jaani Dushman’, ‘Badle Ki Aag’, ‘Naukar Biwi Ka’ and ‘Raaj Tilak’.
How Raj Kumar Kohli Established His Son Armaan’s Career?
Actor Armaan Kohli is director Rajkumar Kohli’s son.
As a child artist, Armaan featured in two films, both of which were directed by his father – ‘Badle Ki Aag’ (1982) and ‘Raaj Tilak’ (1984).
Armaan then made his debut as a leading actor with his father’s 1992 movie ‘Virodhi’.
After Armaan failed to leave a mark in Bollywood, he participated in the controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ season seven in 2013. He became a household name during his stint in Salman Khan’s show. Armaan was known for his poor temper and romantic relationship with his co-contestant and actress Tanishaa Mukerji. Armaan emerged as one of the finalists on the show.
During the show, Kohli was also arrested for alleged physical abuse with his co-participant, Sofia Hayat. However, he was granted bail in less than 24 hours.
