Celebrities who underwent massive body transformation for their movies

Several celebrities have gone through drastic body transformations for movie roles. They have either bulked up or shed extra calories because a character role demands it, a part and parcel of the job as they say. 
 
We have shortlisted a few actors who've put tremendous effort for a movie role. 
 
Randeep Hooda in ‘Sarbjit’ 
Randeep’s body transformation for the movie ‘Sarbjit’ is one of the most talked-about. A muscular man weighing 94 kg, had to lose 18 kg in less than 30 days. He followed a strict diet that allowed him to consume only 500-600 calories a day. He transformed into an exceptionally skinny man with messy hair and a beard. 
 
Kriti Sanon in ‘Mimi’ 
Kriti portrayed the role of a surrogate mother in the movie ‘Mimi’. She put on 15 kgs in two months and she could only lose the weight after completion of the film. The actor once revealed that she had kept the shoot of the song ‘Param Sundari’ on hold and decided to shoot after the entire film has been shot as she would get some motivation to be in great shape again. She mentioned that she let go of many projects and award show performances. 
 
Vicky Kaushal in ‘Sardar Udham’ 
Vicky Kaushal looked almost unrecognisable in ‘Sardar Udham’. He played a 20-year-old Udham Singh as well as a 40-year-old version of him. He shed 15 kgs in 2 months and then gained all weight back in 22 days to play a 40-year-old. 
 
Taapsee Pannu in ‘Rashmi Rocket’ 
Actor Taapsee Pannu transformed her body into an athlete's body as she played a sportsperson in the movie ‘Rashmi Rocket’. The actor shared a detailed video of her transformation journey on social media and revealed that she had no reference to look up to when she started training for the film. Taapsee only consumed homemade meals during her training. 
 
Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Sanju’ 
Actor Ranbir Kapoor played the role of Sanjay Dutt in the movie ‘Sanju’. He went from 70 kg to 85 kg in just 6-8 months. He once talked about the routine he followed and said his trainer made him do odd things to look like Sanjay Dutt, such as waking up at 3 am and having a milkshake and eating eight meals in a day. 
 
Aamir Khan in ‘Dangal’ 
Aamir Khan reportedly gained 96 kgs for his role in the movie and then came down to 68 kgs within a short span to look the part of a younger version of his character. Post the movie, the actor was applauded for going the extra mile for the role, but he urged his fans to not follow his example and said that this process is very unhealthy. 
 
Bhumi Pednekar in ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ 
Bhumi Pednekar gained 23 kgs for her role as Sandhya in 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha'. She started the weight loss process after the completion of the film. In an interview, the actor had mentioned that she started developing health problems as he diet was unhealthy. She mentioned that she doesn’t have a problem with being overweight, but there’s a thin line between being unhealthy and overweight.
