Actor Ameesha Patel surrendered before Ranchi civil court on June 17 in connection with a cheque bounce case. Soon after her surrender, she was granted conditional bail.

The actor is expected to appear before the court on June 21.

In 2018, when Ameesha Patel visited Ranchi to attend a programme at Harmu Ground. She met businessman Ajay Kumar Singh and discussed with him the financing of a film. Singh owns Lovely World Entertainment.

Singh invested in the filmmaking project. However, the film did not come through. He asked Ameesha to return his money. She returned the Rs 2.50 Crore amount through cheque but the cheque bounced. In November 2021, Ameesha made headlines for a similar reason when her cheque of Rs 32.25 lakh to UTF Telefilms bounced.

The news of Ameesha’s surrender comes at a time when she is all set to make a silver-screen comeback with ‘Gadar 2’, also starring Sunny Deol.

‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ released in cinemas on June 9. The second installment of the movie will hit the theatres on August 11. The movie will clash at the box office with Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal’ and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘OMG 2’.

The promotions for ‘Gadar 2’ have already started.
