Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyotikha starrer ‘Shaitaan’ has received the U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with some changes and a scene cut.
Bollywood Hungama reported that the Censor Board has asked to add a voiceover about the disclaimer saying, ‘the film does not support/endorse black magic’. It has also been reported that an abusive word has been replaced by a scream. CBFC has also asked the makers to cut the gory scene by 25%, which shows blood oozing out of the mouth.
A message on liquor consumption will also be added to the film. After all the changes, the film’s duration has come down to 132 minutes.
Ajay Devgn on his role in the film
R Madhavan is seen playing the antagonist in the film. During the trailer launch, Devgn confessed that he connected the most with the emotions of a helpless father in the movie. Jyotikha plays Ajay’s wife in the film.
“When we started shooting, the first thing Maddy (Madhavan) told me was: ‘Why aren’t you doing this role, why have you given it to me?’. I told him, ‘I really feel for the character of the father, so I will not be able to do justice to the other character. It’s a stronger character though,” Ajay said.
Madhavan said he was grateful that Ajay passed on the important role to him. Talking about it, the actor shared, “I can really hope and pray that I could do justice to the kindness that has been shown to me by Ajay sir and his team, I’m very thankful.”
Directed by Vikas Bahl, ‘Shaitaan’ is said to hit the theatres on March 8.
