Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to return to the big screen with 'Ponniyin Selvan,'directed by Mani Ratnam. The makers of the period drama have released a motion poster announcing the release date of the film as September 30.
Sharing the poster, Lyca Productions wrote, 'Look out! Brace yourself. Get ready for an adventure filled week! The Cholas are coming! #PS1.'
'Ponniyin Selvan,' highlights the power struggle within the Chola empire and it is based on Kalki's eponymous Tamil novel that was serialised in 1950s.
Apart from Aishwarya, the stellar cast of the film includes Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala and Prakash Raj.
'Ponniyin Selvan' is being jointly produced by Mani Ratnam and Lyca Productions. A.R. Rahman has composed the music of the film.
