Actors Kapil Sharma, Huma Qureshi, Hina Khan have been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Mahadev betting app case, officials said on Thursday.

The three actors have been asked to appear at the Raipur office of the agency on different dates as per officials. The actors’ statement will be recorded under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The mode and flow of payment allegedly done to them by the app promoters will be under investigation.

Earlier Ranbir Kapoor was summoned by the ED
This happens a day after Ranbir Kapoor was summoned by the federal probe agency to appear before it on October 6, after which the actor urged to give him two weeks’ time.

About the app
ED alleged that Mahadev Online Book provides online platforms for illegal betting in different live games such as poker and other card games, chance games, cricket, badminton, tennis, football and others. It also claimed that the app is involved in providing an avenue to bet on different elections in India. The app also lets users play several card games such as ‘Teen Patti’, poker, ‘Dragon Tiger’, virtual cricket games, and more.

The ED’s probe has already led to the arrest of four people based out of Raipur in August including businessmen brothers Sunil and Anil Dammani, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Chandra Bhushan Verma and Satish Chandrakar.
