South Korean survival drama ‘Squid Game’ premiered on Netflix on September 17, 2021, and became a global sensation. The audience is eagerly awaiting the release of its next season. Now, it has been reported that Netflix is developing the second and the third season together, meaning that the shooting for both seasons will be held simultaneously.

Lee Jung Jae, who played the role of Seong Gihun, and Lee Byung Hun, who played The Front Man (or Hwang In Ho), are likely to return to reprise their roles.

According to India Today, a source said that Netflix and filmmaker Hwang Dong-hyuk had a lengthy conversation before he agreed to release both seasons simultaneously. All 13 episodes would supposedly be produced at once, but they will be released in order of the plot.

Netflix has responded to the report and said, ‘In order to create a show that will bring the fans joy, the Squid Game production team is giving their all to prepare for Season 2.’

‘Squid Game’ stars Lee Jung-jae, Jung Ho-yeon, Wi Ha-joon, Anupam Tripathi amongst many others. The show was based on ideas of class disparity and capitalism.
