Voting for phase 1 of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections began on April 19. To mark the start of the elections, Google celebrated it with a doodle on its home page. The doodle showed the logo of Google with the second 'o' replaced by the image of a voting hand with an ink mark on the index finger, as is customary for voters in India.
The first phase of the election covers 102 constituencies, making it the largest phase in terms of constituencies. Over the next 44 days, an impressive 969 million registered voters will cast their ballots, shaping the course of the world's largest democracy for the next five years.
