The Department of Telecommunications will likely ask telecom companies to test 5G networks in rural areas along with urban ones, according to a PTI report. Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea have been provided trial spectrum to test 5G technology.
Currently, the trials are planned to be conducted at locations including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. State-owned firm MTNL could also join the trials soon.
