The Department of Telecommunications has reportedly allowed Indian mobile carriers to carry out 5G trials with several equipment makers, but left out Huawei from the list. Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have been granted permission to run trials with Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and others, but China's Huawei and ZTE have not been included. While the firms have not been included in the six-month 5G trials, they have not been banned from supplying 5G equipment to carriers.
