The Economic Times reports that the Telecom Ministry is examining if the Technoking Musk's plan to pre-sell Starlink satellite internet service in the country violates any norms.
Musk founded SpaceX is accepting pre-booking orders for Starlink's beta service for a fee of $99, which is refundable.
The scrutiny comes after the Broadband India Forum which has members such as Airtel, Amazon, Microsoft recently asked the government to stop SpaceX from pre-selling the beta version of its Starlink satellite internet services in India on the grounds that the operator did not have a suitable licence or authorisation.
