Dinesh Karthik has been replaced with Eoin Morgan as the skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders. The swapping took place right before the crucial game against the defending champions Mumbai Indians on Friday. The move came after KKR won just 4 games after 7 outings in this season. Karthik was bought by the franchise to replace Gautam Gambhir as the skipper ahead of IPL 2018 with a price tag of INR 7.4 crore. Under DK, KKR finished fourth and fifth in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Morgan meanwhile, was bought by the team in December 2019 auctions for INR 5.25 crore.
