Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress has crossed the 200 mark in West Bengal, even though the BJP has made gains since the 2019 elections. Suvendu Adhikari's lead over Mamata Banerjee is narrowing and has now reduced by over 3,700 votes in Nandigram. Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh joins Vikram Chandra on editorji to analyse the latest leads.

Here's what he said.

  • "The BJP will wait till at least 50% votes are counted before jumping to any conclusion"
  • "Counting is underway, results can change later in the day"
  • "BJP had a target of 200 votes this election, and the public mood seemed to indicate that support for the BJP was solid"
