Delhi Police: 62% cybercrime reports in 2020 cite financial fraud

According to reports, 62% of cybercrime incidents reported to the Delhi Police in 2020 were related to financial fraud. The Delhi Police has said it's noticed a spurt in the number of cybercrime incidents during the Covid-19 lockdowns, with 24% of the remaining complaints related to social media, and the last 14% to hacking and data theft. Complaints also showed that cases of extortion by morphing videos of people performing sexual acts have increased as well.
