Delhi: Farm protest anticipation leads to Monday morning traffic mess

Anticipation of farmers protests over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident spilling onto the NCR, key highways around Delhi were blocked on Monday morning that led to traffic mess in the morning. 

Delhi Traffic Police asked commuters to opt for alternate routes to Ghaziabad and Noida. 

National Highway 24 was barricaded by UP Police hence diversion of traffic was needed, the statement said. 

It further stated that commuters and motorists coming from Sarai Kale Khan should take alternate route for Ghaziabad and for Noida via DND. 

Long cues of vehicles were seen at Delhi entry points. 

Security was also beefed up at the Ghazipur border.
