Delhi: Check travel rules as police tighten security for Independence Day 2021

Delhi police have taken several measures to ensure that the 75th Independence Day functions, celebrations are conducted peacefully. 

Following a high level meeting on Friday, Superintendents of Police of all districts in Delhi have been directed to be on alert ahead of Independence Day.

Traffic advisory has been issued for 15 Aug around the Red Fort. Security has been tightened across the national capital and the city police have been instructed to check vehicles and identity cards of commuters. 

As per the advisory, eight roads including SP Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Esplanade Road, will be closed for general public from 4 am to 10 am.

Police also banned flying like para-gliders, para-motors, micro light aircraft etc. in the national capital till August 16

Over 70 police vehicles, including PCR vans, 'PRAKHAR' vans and Quick Reaction Team vans will be stationed at the Red Fort area

Patrolling on motorboats will be carried out in the Yamuna river by the Delhi Police.
