Delhi Capitals are likely to retain Rishabh Pant, Anrich Nortje, Prithvi Shaw and Axar Patel ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction, tentatively scheduled to take place in January.

According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, Shreyas Iyer doesn't want to stay in Delhi Capitals set up as the franchisee wants to keep Rishabh Pant in the leadership role.

Notably, Iyer lost his captaincy after missing the first leg of IPL 2021 due to a shoulder injury. Delhi Capitals management decided to retain Pant as their skipper despite Shreyas' return in the UAE leg. With two new teams coming into the IPL fold from next season, Shreyas Iyer is likely to be picked by at least five franchises in the auction, according to media reports.

Shreyas Iyer took over Delhi's captaincy midway during IPL 2018 and led the Capitals to finals for the first time in IPL 2020.
