As heavy rains lashed Telangana since Sunday, the incessant downpour led to the collapse of a ceiling of a Intensive Care Unit at a government hospital in Muhamadabad.
News wire ANI posted a video showing the aftermath of the incident and said the ceiling had fallen on a patient who escaped miraculously.
Heavy rains continue to lash several parts of Telangana, flooding some low lying areas and affecting normal life on Monday.
The IMD had issued a red alert for the state in the wake of cyclone Gulab in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
