In a fresh school shooting in America, a 16-year-old suffered a bullet injury in Portland, Oregon on 12 December 2022.
Police reached Cleveland High School around 12:30 pm after calls regarding gunshots in the area. A lockdown was imposed.
The 16-year-old student went to hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

"According to witnesses, two vehicles may have been involved," a police statement said. "Neither vehicle stayed at the scene of the shooting." Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
There has been a surge in gun violence in Portland in recent years, and the homicide rate has gone 207% since 2019. Two students were wounded in a drive-by shooting in October near a different high school in Portland.
