On camera: 'kidnapping' in Telangana; college student forced into car while going to temple with father

In a startling incident, the alleged kidnapping of an 18-year-old woman in Telangana was caught on camera. The incident occurred in Rajanna Sircilla district at around 5:30 am on 20 December 2022.

The victim, a college student, and her father were going to a temple, when some men allegedly forced the woman into a car and drove away.

Later, a complaint was lodged with the police by the victim's father alleging that he was beaten up by the gang before his daughter was kidnapped. One of the accused was from the girl's village, he said.

Police said that the main suspect and the woman had eloped a few months ago, but returned home after being counselled by cops. But after the woman's marriage was fixed with another person, the suspect decided to abduct her, police said.

Special teams have been formed to rescue the victim.
