Gujarat police on 26 December 2022 said that 7 persons had been arrested for the alleged lynching of a BSF soldier.
Police said that Border Security Force personnel Meljibhai Vaghela had gone to a person named Shailesh Jadav's house to confront him for circulating an objectionable video of his daughter. Meljibhai Vaghela was accompanied by his sons and relatives.
Subsequently, a fight broke out, and Shailesh's father Dinesh Jadav, uncle Arvind, and other relatives attacked the BSF soldier, police said. He died on the spot, while his injured son was taken to a hospital.
The incident took place in Chaklasi village in Gujarat's Nadiad.
