The body of a Trinamool Congress worker was found in Canning town of South 24 Parganas district on 11 February, India Today reported on 12 February.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as 48-year-old Suchitra Mandal, who was an active member of the party in the locality.
While the cause of the killing was not yet known, police were also probing a political angle into the murder case, India Today reported
