Covid: India's daily new case count falls by 5,530; positivity rate 3.17%

Marking a fresh decline in the Covid-19 trajectory, India recorded 44,877 new cases in 24 hours, a 5,530-reduction compared to 50,407 infections seen a day earlier.

As per data updated by the Union government on February 13, the country's daily positivity rate fell to 3.17% from 3.48% a day earlier. Daily positivity rate is the proportion of positive results out of total tests conducted in a day.

The total death toll reached 5,08,665 with 684 casualties being recorded in a day.

Meanwhile, India's recovery rate rose to 97.55% with 1.17 lakh patients recovering in a day. The total number of recovered patients so far stands at 4.15 crore.

India currently has 5.37 lakh active cases.

On the vaccination front, the total number of jabs administered reached 172.81 crore.
