Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday discussed the steep rise in Covid-19 cases infections across the country with Chief Ministers. Here are 5 steps that he urged the states to take on war footing.

PM asked states to focus on micro-containment zones and night curfews, which he said will alert people that there is a pandemic going on.

Second, proactive testing as it is essential to identify asymptomatic patients

Third, to bring the positivity rate below 5 per cent and lower the mortality rate

Fourth, Stop vaccine wastage, organise a 'vacccine festival' from April 11 to 14

and lastly, Take steps to address people who are becoming too casual and fix sluggish administration
