Tourists planning to visit Mussoorie from outside Uttarakhand will now need a negative report of an RT-PCR Covid-19 test. The development comes as videos of unruly tourists flocking to the north Indian hill stations have gone viral.

After Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand relaxed restrictions for people from other states, large groups of tourists can be seen daily, without masks, absolutely disregarding social distancing.

To tighten protocols, the Mussoorie administration has made it mandatory for incoming travellers to get online bookings of their hotels and homestays, by producing a negative Covid-19 report.
