Chyawanprash, pranayam part of govt's post-Covid management protocol

In a new advisory on 'post Covid-19 management protocol', the Union Health Ministry has recommended the use of Chyawanprash, Yogasana, Pranayama among others.

The govt advisory said, at the individual level, the recovered patient must continue using masks, practice hand and respiratory hygiene, and maintain social distancing.

Patients advised to drink adequate amount of warm water, if not contra-indicated, along with taking immunity promoting AYUSH medicine, prescribed by a qualified practitioner.

The order adds, that if health permits, recovered patients must resume regular household work and professional work in a graded manner. 

It stresses on mild or moderate exercise, advocating daily practice of Yoga, Pranayama and meditation, along with breathing exercises as prescribed by treating physician. A daily morning or evening walk at a comfortable pace as tolerated, has also been recommended.
