Dozens of Chinese companies have reportedly been added to a trade blacklist by US President Donald Trump's administration, including chip-maker SMIC and drone manufacturer DJI. The US Commerce Department has said the action against SMIC was implemented because the Chinese firm was allegedly using US technology to strengthen the Chinese military. DJI, meanwhile has been added to the list for allegedly enabling "wide-scale human rights abuses". Reports say this is the latest effort by President Trump to establish his image as being tough on China.
