Charred body of IIT Madras lecturer found inside campus, suicide suspected

The charred body of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras lecturer was found inside the campus on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Unnikrishnan Nair. He had completed B.Tech in April 2021 and joined IIT Madras as a project associate and guest lecturer.

He was found dead near the hockey ground by some students  and the Sports Officer of the institute alerted the local police

The Kotturpuram police recovered the body and sent it to a government hospital for autopsy, news agency ANI reported

An 11-page suicide note was retrieved from his room. His note read he 'was unable to cope with work' a police official said.
