A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reached Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee's residence on Tuesday and questioned his wife Rujira Banerjee in connection with the alleged coal smuggling case.

Rujira was summoned by the CBI in connection with the coal smuggling case. She had earlier said she was unaware of why was being questioned. She however agreed to meet the CBI at her residence between 11 am and 3 pm today.

Abhishek Banerjee’s aunt and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee visited the former’s residence minutes before the CBI team landed there.
