Ola Chief is resounding the 'Make In India for India' slogan as he is asking Tesla Chief to not expect any 'special treatment' if the EV major wants to ride on the Indian roads.

“They just want to be treated differently from others, which I believe is not in the interests of India.” Tesla has not started manufacturing operations in India. Founder Elon Musk tweeted in May that “Tesla will not put a manufacturing plant in any location where we are not allowed first to sell & service cars”.

Tesla has not entered the Indian market; missing the 2021 timeline the 'Technoking' himself tweeted. High import taxes and a push back on any breaks have put those plans in parking mode.
