Mission Bharat 6G: PM Modi launches testbed

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 6G vision document which aims to create next generation network technologies. He also unveiled the official testbed project. The vision document released states that 6G will offer ultra-low latency with speeds up to 1 terabit per second. This is thousand times more than the top speed of 5G.

The 6G testbed is being co-developed by a consortium of various Indian Institute of Technology. PM also inaugurated the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Area Office and Innovation Centre. "The ITU offices in India will help create the right environment for 6G in the country", PM said. 

India is the second largest telecom market globally, with 1.2 billion digital subscribers
