Four-day work week: 100 UK firms sign up for permanent three-days week off

With a counter that a five-day working pattern is a hangover from an earlier economic age, a total of 100 UK companies have signed up for a permanent four-day working week with no loss of salary payments to their employees.

These 100 companies with 2,600 employees is hoping that they will lead a major shift in Britain's approach to work as the group believes, The Guardian reported. 

Atom Bank and the global marketing company Awin, which each have about 450 staff members in the UK, are the two biggest companies that have signed up. 

Most of the companies resorting to the four-day week include services sector such as technology, events or marketing companies.
