CNG, PNG prices see steep hike, check prices here

CNG and piped gas prices hiked by Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), which supplies gas to Mumbai. MGL increased prices by ₹5 for CNG and ₹4.50 for PNG, the gas distributor had increased the prices first on April 5 by ₹7 and ₹5 respectively. Accordingly, the revised MRP inclusive of all taxes of CNG will be ₹72/Kg and Domestic PNG Price will be ₹45.50/SCM in and around Mumbai.

The total hike in month of April now stands at ₹12 in Mumbai. The Maharashtra govt anticipating the hikes had reduced the local tax (VAT) by ₹6 to offset some of the burden especially on the local taxi operators.

Feeling the burn from rising CNG, diesel prices cab aggregator Uber India had announced a 15% hike in fares in the financial capital and 12% hike in the national capital. 

Domestic gas distributors have raised prices followed the steep hike in the selling price of domestically produced Natural Gas. The govt had given the nod to increase the price of domestically produced gas by 110% from April 1.
