Iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in 1965, according to a lawsuit filed last week in New York
The 'Like a Rolling Stone' singer whose real name is Robert Zimmerman, allegedly drugged, threatened the now 56-year-old woman with physical violence and sexually abused her.
The woman alleged the abuse occurred multiple times over a six-week period between April and May in 1965, with some incidents occurring in his Chelsea Hotel apartment in New York.
The legal documents also claim that Dylan 'exploited his status as a musician' to illegally provide drugs and alcohol to the underage girl.
However, a spokesperson for Dylan, said that the woman's claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.
Dylan is considered to be the greatest singer-songwriter of all time. His most notable works include 'Blowin In The Wind', 'The Times They Are a-Changin'.
In 2016, Dylan won the Nobel Prize for Literature 'for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition'.
